This policy explains how information is collected, used, and protected on dhaines.dev, including contact form submissions and any SMS communications you choose to receive.

Effective date: April 30, 2026

Policy section

Information I collect

I may collect information you choose to provide directly, such as your name, email address, company, phone number, and the contents of messages you send through the site or by email or text.

I also collect limited technical information needed to operate and secure the site, such as IP address, browser or device details, request metadata, and basic server or reverse-proxy logs created by the hosting environment.

If you opt in to SMS communications, I may collect your mobile number, consent records, message history, delivery status, and support or opt-out requests related to that messaging program.

Policy section

How I use information

I use information to respond to inquiries, provide requested services, operate and improve the website, maintain security, troubleshoot delivery issues, and comply with legal obligations.

Contact form submissions on dhaines.dev are currently processed so I can reply directly by email. Administrative setup flows may also use short-lived security data, including a temporary OAuth state cookie, when configuring the site email system.

Policy section

SMS messaging and mobile privacy

If you opt in to receive text messages from me, those messages may include conversational replies, project-related updates, scheduling coordination, account or service notifications, or other information you requested.

Message frequency varies by your interaction with me. Message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP at any time to opt out, or reply HELP for assistance.

Mobile information, text messaging opt-in data, and consent records are not sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.

Policy section

When information is shared

I do not sell personal information. I may share information only with service providers that help me run the site or communications infrastructure, such as hosting, email, messaging, and security providers, and only for business operations on my behalf.

Based on the current site setup, this can include infrastructure and delivery providers such as DigitalOcean, Docker or Nginx-based hosting components, Google Workspace or Gmail for contact replies, and Twilio if SMS messaging is enabled.

I may also disclose information when required to comply with law, enforce site policies, protect rights or safety, or respond to lawful requests.

Policy section

Cookies and tracking

This site does not currently use advertising cookies or third-party analytics scripts.

A short-lived essential cookie may be set during secure administrative OAuth flows so the site can verify the request and prevent tampering. Those cookies are not used for advertising or cross-site profiling.

Policy section

Retention and security

I retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to you, operate the site, maintain business records, or satisfy legal or security requirements.

I use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect personal information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Policy section

Your choices

You can choose not to submit personal information through the site. If you have contacted me and want me to update or delete information where feasible, you can request that directly.

For SMS, you can opt out at any time by replying STOP. You may also contact me directly if you need help with messaging preferences or have privacy questions.
