Important
SMS opt-in is optional
Users do not need to consent to SMS in order to browse or use dhaines.dev.
The SMS checkbox is unchecked by default and is presented only as an optional communication preference for users who want conversational text-message follow-up.
Program
Conversational messaging opt-in
Program name
dhaines.dev conversational SMS
Program description
Users can opt in to receive one-to-one conversational text messages from Dan Haines and dhaines.dev for AI assistant replies, support-style follow-up, and user-requested status updates related to their interaction. Enrollment happens only through the public form on this page and is optional.
Signup workflow
- 1. A user visits this public page and can leave at any time without enrolling in SMS.
- 2. To enroll, the user enters a US mobile number and independently selects the unchecked SMS consent checkbox.
- 3. The checkbox disclosure states that message frequency varies, message and data rates may apply, consent is not a condition of purchase or use of service, and reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help.
- 4. The Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions are linked directly below the consent checkbox.
- 5. After the form is submitted with consent selected, dhaines.dev records the consent. When conversational SMS is active, dhaines.dev sends the enrollment confirmation before other conversational messages are sent.
